The Africa you see

The picture you praise
is that of Europe
strangling Africa
 
The sweet dream
underneath your rugs
is the dim light of Europe

Where you are hastily going
is where Europe has left
or has never set foot

what have you left behind
that you run so mad
in the other way around?
